It is so simple and yet understandable why this awareness eluded me for most of my life. Rather, I eluded it. I unconsciously shielded myself from the vast “feelings” implied, too outwardly preoccupied to look into the deep abyss of Self. It was easier to lose myself in the challenges of “surface” living, focusing on the day-to-day struggles and responsibilities, endeavoring to do my duty and dharma as any good citizen of the world would do. It was the default “nine-to-five” daily grind existence handed down to all of us by the predominant culture of a world mindset  that did not know how to connect with the deepest layers of the human psyche – let alone Bliss Consciousness.

There is no “technique” that needs to be “practiced.” The energy will do what it needs to do in order to clear out any impediment or blockage to bliss energy. The body then assumes certain positions of itself to intensify and magnetize the field of the spine and body. Our conscious part is to allow the energy to move as it wants to in the body in order to build up the  field of Kundalini. A gentle twisting or stretching of the spine may suffice, along with a deep listening and feeling for the subtle vibrations that accompanies every posture and movement. This blissful, cosmic vibration is the very river and ocean of Love, in all its power and subtlety! It is the dance of Creation moving through all bodies, singing through all Nature, in the stars and galaxies!

We miss its presence because we distract ourselves with the countless mental stories of our little daily dramas. We short-circuit our direct access to bliss through the culturally created belief that the connection with Spirit/Bliss is only for the saints and supermen/women. And so it is for lifetimes that we pass this belief down through the generations.

There is no difficulty in connecting with this great power. Any perceived difficulty lies only in our resistance to the depths of our feelings. We fear the ocean of Bliss, forgetful of our divine connection with its infinite waters. We are the Ocean! What seems so immense and vast and overwhelming within Nature is a reflection of the infinite depths of our Selves. We hide and lose ourselves in the drunkenness of forgetfulness, choosing to stay little because it is too scary to feel the vastness of our Cosmic Selves. It feels safer to be wrapped in the cocoon of smallness, more comfortable to remain in the “safety” of limitation. We equate “familiarity” with safety and security and then lose our way, haunted by the call of the Eternal Vastness, drowning its voice by magnifying our littleness, building edifices of beliefs that protect our narrow existence in a world that depends on the security of fight and struggle. And yet the transmission of light is available to all who would simply allow themselves to feel deeply and to embrace even that which may seem at first uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Feel! And then follow the sensations as they go deeper and deeper within, along the trail of subtlety. Understand that the heart is a most powerful instrument that can plumb the depths of the deepest realms of any dimension. We then follow the vibration to its most subtle and sublime realm.

This is the transmission: allowing ourselves to feel and follow the pathways of subtlety wherein lie the primal forces of Cosmic Energy. Our deep listening and feeling then becomes the teacher, the guru. This elemental force is conscious and creative and knows how to magnify itself in the bodily field. Again, there is no sense of “practicing” a technique, or following and believing in a particular religious path. Teacher, student, path, it all dissolves into the field of the divine play of Bliss that dances and expresses through the unique creation of our lives!

The radiant and blissful energy (kundalini) that moves in the spine is conscious and creative. The following post is a response from Kundalini regarding the question, “What is this mysterious energy in the body/spine?

I am the radiation of the Universal Current that has been with you since the beginning. You are meant to feel this blissful energy in all of its subtle nuances and intensity. There is no end to what can be accomplished with this conscious power as it is creative in Nature. It is Source energy that intensifies all experiences and allows for the deepest connections with the Divine. Allow this blissful vibration to move and dance through the body and to permeate all thoughts and feelings. You are this energy and can use it to manifest the noblest desires of the heart! It is your link to the Divine.

This energy also seeks out and removes blockages that may reside in the physical and emotional bodies. Undulating, coiling, tensing, relaxing…all impurities are as though squeezed to the surface to be released. The muscles become  lean and the spine begins to feel like an undulating serpent of intense pleasure. The body then becomes like a battery that holds, stores and transmits tremendous amounts of this creative mana.

It is important to allow the energy and breath to work its own way through the bodily postures. Your part is to feel and go deeper into the infinite nuances of the radiant vibration as it moves in wider and deeper regions of the Divine Consciousness. This is also the energy that will guide you through life. Understand that worry and anxiety shuts down the life force!

This is healing energy, loving energy…wise and conscious. There is no limit to the vibratory range you can reach. Go with its flow and you will know no blockage of creativity and abundance. If it is abundance you seek and ask for, allow this energy to immerse you in the radiation of abundance. Make the intention that you are the vibration of Abundance and then feel yourself receiving the bounty of all that you ask for. It is with you now! Make the energetic connection now!

Fast-forward many years later, never forgetting the experience and wistfully thinking that a door that had once opened itself to me was now impossibly shut. However, to my great joy and for reasons I will not get into quite yet, the sensations returned. This time around, I was able to follow and feel the intensity of the vibrations back to the spine. Oh…my…God! Again, the feelings began very gently, but then built up into a crescendo of convulsive contortions of the body accompanied by hissing breaths…and yet with unimaginable sensations of pleasure and bliss!

Getting back to the question regarding whether or not Kundalini activations can be dangerous… Well, I believe there can be a danger if the body is not physically healthy and pliable, because the amount of energy going through it is quite high. It would be like having a body that is fit for 100 watts, but 1000 watts of power is trying to surge through. I also believe it important to have emotional baggage cleared out, because stagnant or stuck energy in the body can be quite painful when the energy surge finds any type of blockage.

The energy has its own wisdom, and especially when Kundalini moves through the body, it knows what to do, taking up certain postures and breathing patterns without our having to direct its flow. It is very much like a serpent spirit in the body, moving and undulating, twisting and squeezing…

Oh, and something else to consider… I believe I missed Her (Kundalini) for years because of her subtle, in-the-background presence, like white noise that I paid little attention too. Something that might help: pay attention to the finest sensation that you can feel in the spine and allow the breath to build up the sensation. Allow the body to assume whatever position it needs to, to magnify the feelings in the spine. The breath and body posture is not something that you think about, it just happens.

Hope this helps. Also, the visual for me regarding what is happening in the spine is that of a microscopic thread of pleasurable vibration that is being pulled through the spinal cord while the body naturally assumes certain “locks” or positions. This is a way of literally “following your bliss.”

Relax the grip you have upon the narrow dimension of time that you find yourself in. There is so much that is dancing within. It is all a play of energy! Use this understanding to receive the next installment of your life’s lessons. What you may now consider to be worrisome or distracting is all fuel for your creativity. And this we ask: create everyday, whether in realms of writing, music, art or dance. Your path is about creating and manifesting energetic signatures of the heart.

What does this mean? 

When we speak of “signatures of the heart,” we speak of those vibrations that you know of already that seem to arise mysteriously from the realms of the heart and spine, the kundalini energy. While feeling deeply, the vibration goes out to your entire body and then into the “field of energy” surrounding the physical form.

Yes, it can be so delectable, pleasureable beyond imagination! Words that come to mind are: emanation, radiation, pulsation, serpent energy. And the feelings seem to originate in the areas nearest the spinal column. Thoughts drop away and the energy moves through the body, moving it (the body) in ways that allow for an even greater depth of feelings. Sometimes the body twists and contorts, as though squeezing the energy through every nook and cranny of the bodily cells. The physical movements of the body then become very serpent-like, undulating rhythmically. The sense I have of this is that the body and energetic field around it are adjusting to receive higher voltages of the blissful, creative energy. 

Yes, the physical body is being prepared and all of the shaking and rhythmic movements help to release toxins while upgrading your energetic frequency signal. As your resonant frequency shifts, so does your consciousness. This is why you are finding so many changes happening in your waking and sleeping states. The everyday “reality” can no longer be “business as usual.” The world that once seemed so real and solid is crumbling bit by bit. This no doubt has been pushing many of the fear buttons related to survival and sense of self.

The Earth is changing. The influx of higher energies have placed all creatures and things at the tipping point, like sands upon a cymatics plate, on the verge of shifting instantaneously into beautiful geometric patterns when frequencies reach certain levels. Likewise, your “reality” is at that point of radical change as your body, mind and heart continues to vibrate in resonance with higher and higher dimensions of the Cosmic Sound. Do not fight or resist what is wanting to be birthed during this time.

We are literally asking you to follow the stream of bliss that moves in the field of your body, sometimes delicately and sometimes in torrential streams of almost unbearable force. Know that it is all preparation for the next step in your unfoldment.

The sensations seem to originate in the spinal column, especially near the heart area between the shoulder blades. It takes just a little bit of sensitivity to connect with that subtle vibration.

As I sit here writing, the energy is felt as a steady emanation, as though a vibrating thread is being pulled through my spinal chord. The body then naturally moves in delicate, serpent-like undulations. I can think, write and continue the connection with this energy so long as part of my attention is in the spine. The muscles of my back and stomach/abdomen are slightly contracted as this seems to help “squeeze” the bliss energy through the spine. If I consciously relax all muscles and remain in total stillness, I feel the energy as a subtle radiation moving out to the thighs, arms, feet and hands. 

It is interesting that the body will automatically assume certain positions and postures that help the flow of energy. The movements that happen beforehand might be gyrations, twistings, contortions, shaking, etc. It is not painful, but rather incredibly blissful. The expenditure of energy can be quite high though and the breath finds its own pattern, depending on the posture or movement.

The kundalini energy is quite mysterious when it is activated in the body. When that vibration is awakened in an individual, it changes them at a fundamental level: the river of bliss then streams out in all that they do. They may forget their connection at times, but the thread of kundalini that has been turned on in the spine will always serve as a beacon to call him/her back to the blissful awareness of Spirit.

What does that mean? I still need to live and survive in the world with all of its financial and physical demands.

The kind of surrender we ask is for a releasing of all that you hold on to regarding who you think you are in relation to the constraints and limitations imposed upon you by the cultural and religious conditioning of a world that continues to keep most souls in places of “stuckness.” We are asking you to expand the “knowing” of yourself as an energetic being; not just thinking and mentally understanding this, but truly feeling this.

You are light! All is light! A great influx of Cosmic Vibration is moving through your planet now. Feel this! Experience this! It is all vibration, a distillation of energy and as such you can instantly change the circumstances of your world by changing its energetic patterns.

The dream you believe to be so real is but energy solidified into the hardboiled existence of pain and separation. Awaken now! Experience now the waves of feelings that flow into the oceanic knowing of Self as the Cosmic Dreamer. You are the Infinite Spirit that allowed itself to be stuck for just a little while upon the island of forgetfulness! The Great Awakening is happening though, and soon enough the sleep of ages will fall from your eyes and you will marvel at the wondrous journey of Love that Spirit intended all Creation to partake in through the Cosmic Dream! Wake up now!

When souls awaken—as they ultimately will—the whole structure of the world and its limitations falls away. When Spirit wakes up from its sleep of earthly dreams, it will know that it has been enjoying its own dance of separation through the billions of souls that move through form. Spirit, in human form, has allowed itself to lose its connection to the Infinite Source for a span of time that seems interminable to the human consciousness.

As Spirit within form, humans have chosen to disconnect from the awareness of the Infinite within themselves. They lost their Selves through preoccupations with the limited senses, identifying so completely with the narrow band of existence that they call “reality,” that  they have forgotten how to reconnect with the Oceanic Love within which all things emanate.

The Great Awakening is happening though, as Spirit refuses to remain asleep forever. With great celebration and joy the Spirit song grows louder and calls all beings to awaken. The call can also be felt as sadness or great longing as individuals begin to remember where they came from and the unimaginable earthly sojourn they have taken upon themselves. Joy or sadness? Release it all to the River of Spirit. It flows inexorably to the Ocean of of Love, the repository of Infinite Bliss which heaves ecstatically through the awakened heart.

Listen now! The call is being sounded and can be felt within. It calls you to release all things, your sadness and joys to the Divine River. It also beckons you to understand this: you are the River; you are the Ocean! The dream of separation is dissolving and you are awakening into the dimensionless realms of unspeakable Bliss!

People wonder about “Ascension” and what it is like to experience the higher realms. An aspect of Ascension is the moment-to-moment consciousness of the expanded Self, which is the connection to the Angelic dimensions. If you are not aware of anything beyond the physical senses, it is because that is where most of the energy has been allowed to dwell. As you allow the awareness to “feel” on deeper and more subtle levels, you begin to understand that the physical plane is but one dimension of a vast and Infinite Consciousness. It requires a loosening up of the belief forms and feelings around the physical senses. It is a matter of feeling and sensing beyond and beneath for the subtle vibrations that are generally beyond reach of the physical instruments. Feel the vibrations of the colors that you “see.” Feel the sounds of the vibrations you “hear”…and so forth.

Ascension is already here. The Angels have always been with you. You are already connected to the higher realms. The mind that questions, “But I’m still dealing with feelings of lack and limitation,” that is just the mind doing what it has been programmed to do. It is an identity falsely assigned to a narrow spectrum of the Infinite Self. As you feel more deeply beneath the “dream” of limitation, the experience of ascension, the bliss consciousness,  will become more and more established in the day-to-day existence.

You are all “Angels” drinking in the subtleties of each moment. The dimensional shift happens from moment to moment and it is not so much a transformation of consciousness as it is a remembrance of who you are and what you have always been: Infinite Spirit that has allowed itself to be lost for awhile in the worldly dream.

The energy is strong and creativity flows easily and smoothly whilst relaxing into the blissful field. Love is calling you to plumb the depths. Observe, relax and release! The “You” of name and human form will be experienced dispassionately as a wave of Spirit, connected with the Cosmic Ocean. Each breath will then be a constant reminder, an eternal pulsation of the Infinite Connection. Breathe deeply and feel! It will be as though you have awakened from a deep sleep and all things will seem different and yet familiar.

Spirit is awakening and expressing through the body. It is spreading its wings of light through every nerve and cell. That energy is blissful, overwhelmingly powerful as it moves wave after wave through the body. Allow it to dance and express. Bask in the delectable moment that is Infinite Beauty and Joy! And then go deeper still. This is your work! Take care of your responsibilities, but understand that your main focus and work is with Spirit. Expansion of the heart will then happen naturally as you relax and allow the powerful Spirit to move within.

Beauty is unfolding and spreading its wings of light. Receive that you have the power and understanding to manage the ebb and flow of its Divine Song!

Allow, relax and then open up to deeper and deeper levels of Spirit. There is then no stopping the flow of this beautiful river, no boundary to your creative endeavors. Go deep quickly and express freely without fear or limitation. The field of Love then expands in all directions.

The heart speaks and communicates through the language of intuition. As you gaze across the landscape of your feelings, you receive impulses regarding any question or desire you may have. Listen to and feel deeply for the answers that well up in the energetic field that you are immersed in. Feel the finest vibrations of the subtle voice. You are a Creator, a vast field of Consciousness that is connected to Source Energy.

Understand that the vibratory field of the body is infinite and connected seamlessly with all Creation. The belief of the body as limited and separate is a play of Spirit enjoying itself through the countless creations that it has given life and individuality to. We have forgotten our eternal connection with the Divine and dream that we are limited beings stuck upon a world that requires struggle and fight for survival.

Spirit is asking for a release of the tight grasp that you have upon the narrow vibratory realm of the three dimensional world. The heart is calling for the letting go of the rigid bundle of beliefs that you hold onto regarding what is possible. Step now into the wider home of omnipresence and offer into the fires of wisdom all stories of limitation!

What amazing dimensions can be explored and enjoyed! Feel, relax, breathe in deeply the energies of Spirit. You have access to all dimensions and can learn from the Masters of all realms. As you tap into the resonance of Being, you can dive into any ocean of the Infinite. What sacred mystery do you wish to explore? What frequency of Love do you wish to experience?

When I speak of “Child” I mean the inner archetype or energy of creativity that flows within. The inner child can also be our connection to the Mother/Father Divine. When we allow ourselves to merge energetically with the Child, the energy then wishes to express creatively through the unique channel of our lives. I use sound, voice (overtone singing), rhythm, dance, movement, art (writing and drawing), and playing music as a way for the creative energy to express. The more I allow (without mental editing or self-criticism), the more it begins to flow easily and effortlessly. The energy flow also becomes joyful, ecstatic, moving like nectar through the body.

Learn to listen to your heart and body…without judgment, without story. Feel! Feel! Feel! Ask any body part what message it wishes to convey to you. Listen and feel.

This vision has gotten very clear in the last year or so and it’s how I conduct my sound healing events. I have the participants sing and dance their prayers and intentions. It is just a matter of getting out of our own way.

I did not take any special training to learn overtone singing. I taught myself by listening and feeling (on the inside). There are, however, recordings that can be found on Youtube (do a search for “overtone singing,” “throat singing,” and “Harmonic singing”). You can find lots of help with technique online… Have fun with singing (without pushing yourself). Learn to listen for subtlety…that is where the true power lies in overtone singing. Follow and listen for the subtle vibrations that dance within…they will awaken and help you move energy in the body.

Most of all, have fun! If it’s not fun you’re trying too hard! It’s all a dance and play of energy. It’s like the human equivalent of a cat’s purr. The whole body begins to vibrate. I sing now (as much as I can) only with people that are open hearted and willing to play. When I do events, I take lots of time to bless the area of play and the individuals present. This is the blessing of “Sacred Space.” In this way, the Child feels safe to come out and play. When the Child comes out, many wonderful things can happen. The consciousness goes into deep trance and the vibration of love and bliss begins to be experienced. It is a thing of great Beauty and Enchantment!

There are infinite dimensions of creativity that can be explored. Just get the energy moving without stopping to consider why you may be feeling a lack of inspiration. Start something…listen and feel deeply while expressing through your writings, drawings or music. There is no “stuckness” save in your own choice to not start the process. Once you allow and begin something creative, no matter how small or large, the momentum of creativity will begin to move of itself, allowing for tremendous bursts of expression. Step out of the way! Do not judge or question whether or not you are “good enough.” Create! Create everyday. Your life and Being is inherently creative. Allow the Divine to sing and dance through you. If you ever feel uninspired, that is a trick of the mind. Just start the process of moving energy and then inspiration will always be with you. It is as natural as breathing in and out. Feel and listen to the Spirit that lives within. You are Creativity. Live and breathe its Spirit. Receive and be filled with what is already yours and then give thanks that your consciousness can now understand and receive this!
