Mindfulness is like a barometer that allows us to tune in immediately to our state of being, whether up, down, moody, upbeat, energetic, depleted, happy, sad, neutral, etc. etc.
Mindfulness can be thought of as an awareness of Self in all of its complexity of feelings and thoughts and distilling it all down into the simplicity of the moment, experienced as the overall resonance of feeling, of sensation, of life force. The moment, being out of time, communicates to the awareness a sense of being energetically up or down and all the degrees of in-between.
In the Divine Moment there is no story of sadness or happiness, despair or joy. There is only an energetic experience/sense of contraction or expansion.
Embedded in the feeling/connection of the Life Force is an invitation to go deeper and wider. Life Force seems to naturally seek wider channels through which to flow. Mindfulness then becomes an inner prompt to follow Life Force to deeper and deeper subtleties of Itself.
When we are ensconced in the dance and play of mindfulness, we become intimately aware of how our emotional feeling states are connected with our energetic levels. For example, the gravitational pull of our habits may have us helplessly locked in the seemingly endless cycles of our moods…and yet with the visceral experience of Life Force, there is an embedded knowingness/wisdom of how to shift such moods to wider and higher expressions of the Self.
Mindfulness connects us directly with Life Force… which offers a way out of the endless cycles of moods.
